Zane Mabry is a 26-year-old from South Bend, Indiana and normally enjoys playing ice hockey, football, tennis, and going on hikes with his wife. While applying to graduate school programs last year, he wound up in the hospital on Christmas eve with a tumor in his chest and was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. Due to the cancer, he has been unable to work and has been receiving IV chemotherapy treatment ever since. The hospital is a 3-hour round trip drive from home, so travel expenses have been mounting quickly also. Once he overcomes all of this, he plans to complete his graduate studies, and then go into teaching.
It was an honor and a privilege to speak with him, get to know his story, and provide some assistance on behalf of the donors of our organization.
Stay strong Zane, you got this!
