Sadly, today June 22nd, 2013 marks 10 years since Eric’s initial diagnosis with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. It’s hard to believe a decade has gone by already. It was on June 21st, 2003 that Eric’s mother Mary took him to the ER with severe problems from the extraction of his wisdom teeth. He was officially diagnosed the following day, and it was only the beginning of a nightmare that will remain with us forever.
Tomorrow on June 23rd – Chris Solinsky will be competing in the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 5,000m in Des Moines, Iowa – while wearing his LIFE bracelet. Chris will be running at 4:30pm – tune in to www.usatf.tv to watch the race live. Pictured above – Chris setting the American Record in the 10,000m at the Stanford Invite in 2010 with the incredible time of 26:59 – and yes, also while wearing his LIFE bracelet. Following the Olympic year in London, the 2013 Championships will serve as the selection event for the coveted spots to represent Team USA at the IAAF World Championships August 10 – August 18 in Moscow, Russia. Best of luck Chris.
