Eric McLean took his last breath 9 years ago today, on his older brother’s 30th birthday. While it’s hard to ignore the heartache that today brings, we try to make this day about celebrating Mike, his first bone marrow donor and one of his biggest fans. The bond these two shared moved mountains. Please join Eric and the rest of us in wishing Mike a Happy Birthday. We hope the sunshine of this day can overcome the shadow of one of our darkest. On this day 9 years ago, the last picture of Eric was taken. Both ex-Milwaukee Brewer and World Series Champion Larry Hisle, and ex-Green Bay Packer and Superbowl Champion William Henderson came to visit Eric at his parents’ home in Two Rivers. He got to wear both a World Series ring and a Superbowl ring on the same hand, at the same time! Thank you again and always for this memory, Mr. Hisle and Mr. Henderson. 🧡🎗#champions #inhonor #inmemory #leukemiaawareness @larryhisle @brewers @packers @letsfcancer

The majority of us will never know when or how we are going to die. For better or for worse, we have no idea how much time we have left. But what if you did and what if it wasn’t as much as you thought? What would you expedite? How would you spend your minutes? How many “some days” would you plan tomorrow? Take the answers to those questions and apply them as soon as possible. Eric had that perspective and insight. It changed the remainder of his life. If I had to guess, I’d say Eric’s only “regret” was waiting until he was dying to truly start living, to take the governor off and ride wide open. Here’s a life supporter doing just that, living! Grab your LIFE shirt and live like Eric did. Go for a walk, book a flight, whatever makes you happy, just make it good one! Don’t waste days, they matter! Smile today. #live

We’d like to introduce you to our latest LIFE Survivor Grant Recipients. Meet Shelbi Kati, a 29-year-old from Tucson, AZ who works as a veterinary technician and is currently battling her diagnosis of neuroblastoma. Sadly, within 6 months last year Shelbi lost her Mom to glioblastoma and her stepdad to pancreatic cancer.

It’s an honor to be able to support Shelbi in her fight, thanks to the love and support from all of you! Help us wish her well and keep her in your thoughts! You got this, Shelbi!
