From everyone here at L.I.F.E., we hope you all are able to enjoy a happy Thanksgiving with your friends and family this year.
2013 marks 4 years since Eric appeared on the news for that Thanksgiving special on WLUK Fox 11. His message was that he was very thankful just to be alive.
“It’s a miracle that I’m sitting here talking to you doing this interview. Here I am 25 years old thinking this could be the end of it all. There’s just so much out there I wanted to see and do, that was a pretty crazy 2 months or so (in reference to the bucket list) [Achieving remission] was one of the happiest moments of my life, given the prognosis that I was given, it was unbelievable. I’m thankful for what I have, I’ve got leukemia, and I’ve been told a number of times now I’ve got weeks or months to live, and I’m still here, and I’m thankful for that, and I’m thankful I have leukemia because I know somewhere else someone is having a heck of a lot worse day than I am.”
Unfortunately those weeks and months had to come to an end, but we are absolutely thankful that we got the chance to have them. His spirit will be alive at our Thanksgiving table this year.
