Jordyn Rieck is a 24-year-old woman who is our 2nd Survivor Grant recipient this year from Columbia, MO. Jordyn’s social worker at Mayo contacted us on her behalf to apply for our 2023 Survivor Grant, and L.I.F.E. is proud to have been able to answer the call. Jordyn is currently battling an astrocytoma, a cancer of the central nervous system. Due to her condition, she has been unemployed this past year for 2 brain surgeries and 30 proton radiation fractions. Unfortunately, her job was unable to hold a spot for her during her medical leave. All the while, medical bills, insurance payments, and car loans, and graduate school tuition payments were piling up.

She previously graduated with a degree in Health Science graduate from the University of Missouri with an emphasis in Health and Wellness and a minor in Psychology, and is now pursuing coursework toward a Master of Education in Clinical Counseling. One day her education will enable her to help others in their time of need.

We wish you all of the best in your journey, Jordyn!
